Creating the future city – key tips from the past
A city is an urban settlement that is densely populated and provides all that is required for it’s people. The present day cities are differentiated by the land area and the population. Big cities that are industrialized will have excellent infrastructure compared to the others. The present day cities are over crowded and to meet the sheltering requirements, more and more agricultural lands are been destroyed.
The future city must be free from pollution and there should be no crime. People must live comfortably, with all the basic needs and the cities must not be over crowded. The future city must be serene and wealthy. Security and prosperity ensure the happiness of the people living there. The food producing lands must not be destroyed and the fertility of the land must be improved. We have to learn from our past mistakes to design a future city.
The old cities have a number of small buildings that are networked to provide a service. The future city must have a single building incorporating all the tasks required for providing service to the people.
In the present cities, many people forfeit laws mainly because of the use of different forms of paying. Payment can be done using cash or debit cards or credit cards. To eliminate this, a single mode of payment, which may be the use of a bank book, can be introduced in the future city. The size of the account may depend on a person’s income. All bills can be cleared with a single bankbook.
The educational system in the future city must be based purely on technology and science. The system should be comfortable and the students will be taught the latest advancements in science. Students above the age of 15 must be made to work in the greenhouses surrounding the factories in the future city. This way they understand the importance of nature.
All the public places in the future city must be watched with the help of closed circuit cameras and there must be an adequate number of policemen in the city to watch out for crimes. As people don’t carry money when they go out because of the use of bank book, thefts can be greatly reduced. There should be fire extinguishers in all the floors of all buildings.
Adequate health care facilities must be provided for the people of the future city. The hospitals must be placed in the main commercial section of the city, so that it can be reached by everybody easily. All insurance facilities must also be provided for the people so that they are able to lead a comfortable life.
Designing a future city requires more money and planning. But once it is created, it will be a heaven for the people who live in it.
