17 Jun 2009 - The Mimics Education Training is Started in the USA!
Lake Tahoe, CA (USA), June 17-21, 2009 - Materialise is delighted to announce the start of the Mimics Educational Program - MimicsSE (Student Edition). The program was unveiled at the ASME Summer Bioengineering Forum in Lake Tahoe, CA. Mimics SE was started out of a need expressed by professors to get cutting edge technology in the hands of students in arrange to set them apart as they come in the job market. The purpose of this program is to offer professors with a total curriculum collection designed for simplicity of implementation with practical hands-on experience. The Materialise motto is “Driving your innovations”. In order for us to realize this goal, we identify the significance of educating the future of the biomedical production industry. This has led to Materialise developing a curriculum based learner version of our traditional Mimics program to equip students for the future with sought after applications skills. Mimics software bridges the gap between medicinal picture data and engineering design and analysis.
Leading biomedical companies and research institutions around the world are using Mimics software for continuous applications. The personalization of health care is a growing trend. The ability to use patient specific data to design improved solutions is clearly significant. Providing cutting-edge companies who are leading this project with staff who are organized to hit the ground running is a purpose for Materialise. The Mimics software Educational Training comes with the student version of Mimics (MimicsSE), a program book and data sets.
The lessons book teaches skills of basic segmentation to sophisticated FEA meshing during tutorials and homework assignments in a step by step, easy-to-follow format. The data sets are patient specific and variety from cardiovascular to orthopaedic. In addition, students and professors get access to the NEW Mimics User Community so that they can interact with professionals who are at this time using Mimics software. Professors who beta tested the software in their classrooms are enthusiastic about this opportunity. Dr Binil Starly from the University of Oklahoma said, “The students find it [MimicsSE] easy, yet powerful enough to handle complex design…inclusion in their resume makes them more attractive to medical machine engineering for internships and work opportunities.” Find extra information concerning Mimics software: Medical imaging software
